Dr. Petersen is currently contracted with many insurance plans, and she is accepting new patients on the plans listed below.  Patients who are established with the practice and whose insurance changes to another plan with which Dr. Petersen is contracted may continue to be served by the practice even though new patients are not being accepted on these plans.

Further, if a patient has insurance company with which Dr. Petersen has chosen not to contract then for that plan Dr. Petersen is "out of network".  Patients seeking care from Dr. Petersen may have their visits paid for by their insurance company if the patient has "out-of-network benefits" on their plan.  If a patient has these out-of-network benefits, they should further determine if they have a deductible which must be met before their insurance plan pays toward their visit.  Until this deductible is met, patients effectively pay for their visit fully on their own.  Without a deductible, or after the deductible has been met, the insurance company usually pays a percentage of the visit to an out-of-network provider, typically 60-70% of the visit.  This often equates to a co-pay of $20-$30.

Unfortunately, insurance companies' listings of contracted providers that are accepting new patients are often not up-to-date.  We apologize if you have been told erroneously by your insurance plan that Dr. Petersen is accepting new patients on your plan.
